It’s a sunny spring day at the gallows. Surprisingly, the condemned aren’t hanging their heads and shuffling towards defeat. As they are dragged up to meet their fate, they dance. Perhaps it’s in defiance of the government that sent them there, perhaps it’s in defiance of death itself, or perhaps it’s to send a message to onlookers: We’re all headed for the gallows; some of us are just a little bit closer.
